About the Mysteries
Imagine a small group of women meeting over a year in search of its own spirituality. Convening both in Santa Rosa and by the ocean at The Sea Ranch, they consider a variety of spiritual practices: Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christian mysticism, paganism and other earth-based traditions. Each draws from these beliefs those ideas best suited to a personal spiritual practice that will sustain her throughout her life. This is the essence of Women’s Mysteries.
What is Women’s Mysteries? The Basic Journey
We are a small group of like-minded women that meets once a month as well as weekends together in retreat at The Sea Ranch, California. Under my guidance we learn and practice rituals and exercises designed to connect us more deeply with the earth. Together we will partner with natural forces to make our desires and dreams manifest. Think of this as a new kind of adventure for the imagination and creative spirit.
Our goals as Women’s Mysteries celebrants are to:
• celebrate passages from one life-phase to another
• trust others who may be different from us
• learn we are all teachers
• accept and openly share our true selves
• see all life as holy and sacred
• be ordained as “Priestess of the Mysteries”
In our time together, we expect to:
• develop or enhance our rituals and spiritual practices
• learn prayers, chants and songs
• form a healing circle, create altars together and walk the labyrinth
• share and interpret our dreams in a special technique, dreamspeak
• enact myth and story in the Theater of the Imagination
• create sacred art and delving tools: dream catchers and pillows, prayer beads, altars, shields of protection and others
• study herbs for healing and visioning
• spend time in meditation and in visioning alone and together
• cook, relax, laugh and deepen our friendship together while creating a safe temenos for individuation
